Pordum Shawl
The stitch pattern in the Pordum shawl is reminiscent of thistles and the latin name for the Scottish Thistle is Onopordum. The name, Pordum, is an abbreviated version. Pordum is the same construction as my other pattern, Heddle, and it is a very simple top-down shawl that’s scalable. In other words, the pattern repeat can be worked any number of times, so you can work the pattern to the length that your yarn quantity will stretch to.

RECOMMENDED YARN
4 ply/fingering weight yarn in a composition suitable for a shawl between 370 – 795m [405 – 870]yds.
YARN USED
Malabrigo Mechita (100g; 384m [420yds]; 100% merino wool; 4ply/fingering) colourway: Dried Orange.
Yarn quantity is adjustable. Sample worked 12 repeats and used 370m [405 yds].

GAUGE
22 stitches by 30 rows = 10cm [4”] in stocking stitch.
